Dr. Malinda Daniel

To be able to grasp what education is truly like today is a gift.  Malinda is able to look at both sides of what is true and what is false in education today.  As an elementary teacher, we begin to be pulled in many directions.  We are encouraged to use our own teaching styles and then mandated to use a specific strategy when we teach our students.  On pg. 15 Malinda says, “When it takes a whole year to provide additional support to students such as specialized services, the system is not working”.  Maybe the system needs to trust the teacher’s expertise.  I agree with Malinda when she says on page 45 that “Education is a higher calling.”  To make a difference in the life of a child is a teacher’s heart.  Malinda’s insight, encouragement, friendship, dedication to education and faith in God has made this book a success.
